My anime club's website. Welcome to our insanity Check out the latest bridge panels (we get to paint the walls of the bridge over the river to advertise our student group). And sometime in november we'll have pics from our haloween party. Old stuff's there too. Plus we host weekly rotations of anime mp3.

Hey, Reikou, University of Minnesota? Do you know Eleanor Kai? She's going there this year and she was regaling all of us at JAC about you guys' great lineup this year... ^___^
The three places I go most often besides here are jac.anime.net (which I'm the webmaster of so I ought to make sure it's up to date every so often ^^;; , its forum (linked from the JAC main page), and animelyrics.com (where I seem to have become the Keeper of Gravitation Lyrics by turning around every so often, seeing what some new drooling fangrrrrrl had posted as a "translation" without having a clue what the song was actually saying, and going, "What the hell is that? All right, Sailor Bacon, puhLEEEZE let me fix that before more harm is done by the ignorant to the ignorant..." ^^;;;;;;; I've gotten the worst offenders retranslated and am working on trying to fill the remaining holes before someone else beats me to it, but it's not a hat I went after consciously; it just seemed to happen... and I've made a stern point of NEVER EVER letting myself read whatever's happened to the Weiss lyrics, because I just don't want to know. There's too many songs there to even try a retranslating spree if it needs it, and knowing Weiss's popularity among people who tend to get wildly fanatical and go "I have to translate this but I don't even know how to use a dictionary; oh well, let's make it up", I wouldn't be surprised if a big chunk of it is as bad as the Gravitation songs were; and I just can't seem to leave badly-done things alone... anyway, end of rant... ^^;;;;

WK, the fandom that gave us fangirl-german. Risu-chan, I have to reccommend that you get over that WK phobia and check out some of the fanfiction. I'm not talking ff.net here, there are some shit-hot H/C fics out there. Mmm, aya!bondage fics. : Proud aya-as-uke supporter:
on the subject of fanfiction, here's a link to a historical slash archive. XD

^^;;;;;;;;;; actually...
The only thing I can stand about Weiss is the voice actors' singing. I like some of their CDs. (I like the Gluhen CDs better than the first CDs because now they have the budget for someone who knows what to do to maximize each actor's particular voice and tone down their individual flaws with what's done with the music and resampling. This is without ever having seen an episode of Gluhen.)
And why haven't I seen an episode of Gluhen?
Because I can't stand the first series. ^^;;; In my opinion, the animation is below abysmal, the plots are unbelievably cliched, the characters might possibly have unexplored depths but you never get to see them because they're too busy doing "hackneyed bad-National-Enquirer-headline villain-of-the-week combat", and I think the main reason so many people write fanfic about them is because *somebody* has got to do all the character development and interaction that the writers blatantly failed to follow up on.
There's a WHOOOOLE lot of holes there for fanfic writers to fill in... but since I personally find the original premise ridiculous to start with, I feel like life's too short for me to go reading fanfic about a series I find laughable at best and pathetic at worst...
That's my opinion anyway... ^^;;;;;;;; Some people don't like Clamp; I don't like Weiss; that's just how it is...

Nope, don't know her. Tell her to come to one of our meetings ;P Anyway, I was planning to go to the JAC thing tomorrow but our club's having an event too.
As for ppl who mistranslate things, ugh. There's a reason why I don't attempt to translate much of anything yet I don't know what I'm doing yet The most I'll do is make fun of subtitles thatmight make sense in english but don't convey the meaning of the utterance (IE in spirited away an example was 'ne' being translated as 'mommy!' )

@Risu-chan: Don't worry, you're not the only one who has a low opinion of Weiss Kruez. The only reason I've seen any of it at all is that I'm a sucker for anything with Koyasu Takehito in it, and even his presence in a major role wasn't enough to make me keep me watching it after about episode 7 or 8. *Some* of the music's okay, but a lot of it sounds too upbeat for my taste.
Anyway, since I posted a sorta-pointer to my desktop-wallpaper-and-miscellaneous-graphics website in another thread, I guess maybe I'll repeat it more explicitly here: http://earth.prohosting.com/cgryphon/ . (Of my other sites, one's down, one's moribund, and one's going to be moving within the next week or so . . .)
